Hello, distinguished organizer and members of E-Health
How's your day?

WE ARE BACK!

Do you know that Southeast Asia is second-largest source of plastic trash in world's ocean? Plastic pollution is a massive problem in each country, especially Indonesia. Starting in 2016, Ministry of Environment enforced retailers in 23 cities across the archipelago (mini-market, hypermarket, and supermarket) to charge consumers for plastic bags between Rp.200 and Rp.5,000 for each bag including degradable plastic bags. And money which came from tax are used by retailers as public funds for waste management alongside non-governmental organizations. And now, the regulation is totally stop. Why? Are you curious?

Ministry of DebateProudly Presents

PROS AND CONS BPJS KESEHATAN PREMIUM INCREASES
PER APRIL 1ST, 2016

Preface :
With a sharp deficit or mismatch recorded in three years of implementation, The Social Security Agency for Health (BPJS Kesehatan) projects a deficit of Rp 6.23 trillion in 2017. President director Fachmi Idris said that number may rise to Rp 10.05 trillion by 2018.
By 2019, he said on Thursday, February 9, a deficit of Rp 12.7 trillion is expected if the state health insurer does not raise its premium and service tariffs.
Based on Presidential Regulation Number 19 year 2016, BPJS Kesehatan is increasing its premium with the exception of the premium for Employee Wage-based starting April 1st, 2016 and  BPJS cancels its premium increase for class III participant.

Cause BPJS deficit:
- BPJS participant delinquent pay premium
- BPJS Participant mostly only pay when they are sick
- Number of non-infectious disease patients increases. Example: Cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes, Cancer, Kidney Failure, Stroke and Thalassemia
Because of that, this policy makes pros and cons in various circle.

Pros:
- Can cover shortfall BPJS faces deficit
- Can speed up re-imbursement hospital claim
- Adjustment of doctors and patients ratio

Cons:
- Hospital services have not been maximized so that BPJS premium is not worth to raise.
- Premium is more expensive, especially for Class I and Class II participant

Solutions :

  1. According to administration and health policy expert, Dr. Djazuli Chalidyanto, S,KM.,MARS from Faculty of Public Health, Airlangga University. He said that the increase of BPJS Kesehatan premium must be balanced with the efforts of disease risk control and improvement of health care facilities. Effort of disease risk control means promotive and preventive effort to apply clean and healthy life behaviour (PHBS). For Mr. Dzauli, if don’t apply PHBS in their daily life, then the health risks remain high. Eventually, BPJS Kesehatan will continue to experience deficit despite repeatedly increasing premiums.

  2. The health service must be in terms of quantity, distribution, and quality. According to Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Public Health Experts from East Java Province, the problem of health services in Indonesia consists of three things. First, the number of facilities and medical personnel is limited. Second, the distribution is unequal. Third, the quality of service has not been optimal.

  3. Community health centre or Puskesmas should intesified to give health promotion and health education (promotive and preventive) for increase awareness about health.

  4. The late-payers must pay a fine (denda) and if they ignore the rules, they are no longer eligible for health treatments.

Confidence is not something that can be learned like a set of rules, confidence is a state of mind. Positive thinking, practice, training, knowledge and talking to other people are all useful ways to help improve or boost your confidence levels. Confidence comes from feelings of well-being, acceptance of your body and mind (self-esteem) and belief in your own ability, skills and experience. On the other hand, low confidence can be defined as a lack of faith in one’s abilities and competence. Low confidence can be a result of many factors including: fear of the unknown, lack of knowledge, previous failures and many more.

So, There are ways to improve your confidence:

1. Planning and Preparation.

People often feel less confident about new or potentially difficult situations. Perhaps the most important factor in developing confidence is planning and preparing for the unknown.

2. Learning, Knowledge and Training.

Learning and research can help us to feel more confident about our ability to handle situations, roles and tasks. Knowing what to expect and how and why things are done will add to your awareness and usually make you feel more prepared and ultimately more confident. Learning and gaining knowledge can sometimes make us feel less confident about our abilities to perform roles and tasks, when this happens we need to combine our knowledge with experience. By doing something we have learned a lot about we put theory to practice which develops confidence and adds to the learning and comprehension.

3. Positive Thought.

Positive thought can be a very powerful way of improving confidence. The basic rules of positive thinking are to highlight your strengths and successes and learn from your weaknesses and mistakes.

4. Talking to Others and Following Their Lead.

Speaking to and being around people who are confident will usually help you to feel more confident. Learn from others who are successful in fulfilling the tasks and goals that you wish to achieve, let their confidence rub off on you. As you become more confident then offer help and advice, become a role-model for somebody less confident.

5. Experience.

As we successfully complete tasks and goals, our confidence that we can complete the same and similar tasks again increases. Gaining experience and taking the first step can, however, be very difficult. Often the thought of starting something new is worse than actually doing it, this is where preparation, learning and thinking positively can help. Break roles and tasks down into small achievable goals.

"Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what? Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident, and more and more successful."  - Mark Victor Hansen
