World Rabies Day is an international awareness campaign coordinated by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control, a non-profit organization with headquarters in the United States. It is a United Nations Observance and has been endorsed by international human and veterinary health organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, the World Organisation for Animal Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

World Rabies Day takes place each year on September 28, the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur who, with the collaboration of his colleagues, developed the first efficacious rabies vaccine. World Rabies Day aims to raise awareness about the impact of rabies on humans and animals, provide information and advice on how to prevent the disease in at-risk communities, and support advocacy for increased efforts in rabies control.

Coronary heart disease is a common term for the buildup of plaque in the heart’s arteries that could lead to heart attack. But what about coronary artery disease? Is there a difference?
The short answer is often no — health professionals frequently use the terms interchangeably. However, coronary heart disease , or CHD, is actually a result of coronary artery disease, or CAD, said Edward A. Fisher, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H.

The traditional risk factors for coronary artery disease are high LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, high blood pressure, family history, diabetes, smoking, being post-menopausal for women and being older than 45 for men, and Obesity.

You can prevent and control many coronary heart disease (CHD) risk factors with heart-healthy lifestyle changes and medicines.  but a few risk factors—such as age, gender, and family history—can’t be controlled.

Heart-healthy lifestyle changes include :
- eating healthy food for the heart
- the ideal weight
- Managing stress
- Physical activity
- Quitting smoking

Make following a healthy lifestyle a family goal. Making lifestyle changes can be hard. But if you make these changes as a family, it may be easier for everyone to prevent or control their CHD risk factors.

Lymphoma is cancer of the immune/lymphatic system, specifically the lymphocytes, in which an abnormality occurs in one lymphocytes that provides the cell with a growth or survival advantage, allowing the cell to divide and grow abnormally, or live longer  than it usually would. Like all cancer cells, the abnormal lymphocyte does not obey the signals that control normal cell behavior.

Can lymphoma be prevented?

There are few known preventable risk factors for lymphoma, so it is not possible to prevent most cases of the disease at this time. For now, the best way to reduce the risk for lymphoma is to try to prevent known risk factors such as immune deficiency.

Our busy lifestyles can be hard on our family’s health. Rushing to and from school and work can make it hard to find time to be physically active. That’s why it’s so important to stop, take stock and make a conscious decision to follow a healthy lifestyle.Easy to say, but sometimes not so easy to do!

How to lead a healthy lifestyle
There are five simple ways for your family to lead a healthy lifestyle and get back on track:

1. Get active each day
● Regular physical activity is important for the healthy growth, development and well-being of children and young people. 60 minutes of physical activity every day that strengthen muscles and bones on at least 3 days of the week and Parents should be good role models and be an example

2. Choose water as a drink
● choose water without sugar found in fruit juices, soft drinks and other sweetened drinks, reduced fat milk for children over two and Give kids whole fruit to eat.

3. Eat more fruit and vegetables
● Eating fruit and vegetables every day helps children grow and develop, boosts their vitality and can reduce the risk of many chronic diseases.

4. Switch off the screen and get active
● Plan a range of active indoor and outdoor games or activities for your children, as alternatives to watching TV or playing on the computer.

5. Eat fewer snacks and select healthier alternatives
● Snacks based on fruit and vegetables, reduced fat dairy products and whole grains are the healthiest choices and avoid snacks that are high in sugar or saturated fats
